If you see the success of Nerds candy today as one of the most loved candies in the United States, just know that it has traveled a long way. The existence of Nerds candy was launched in 1983 by the Willy Wonka Candy Company. Typical of its shape, it started as small, tart, crunchy candies packaged in pink-and-purple cardboard boxes.
